After putting a short blog together about “le premier mai” (click here to view it!), I felt I needed to do the same for “le 8 mai”, so here it is!
With my pupils, we are using the book by Tomi Ungerer “Otto – autobiographie d’un ours en peluche” (click here for a synopsis of it). The children have to write the names of the characters from the book, then do a timeline of the story before adding a timeline of the Second World War to it.
I also mention “le 8 mai” in this video about how we do Bank Holidays in France – click here to watch it!
Useful resources around the topic: an article from “Un jour une actu” and a timeline about WW2 in French.
