In 2023, I recycled some activities from previous years. It is always a good idea – why reinvent the wheel if something worked work and the children we currently teach have not had that experience? Click here for more European Day of Languages ideas from past years.
This year though I am going to be using resources that have been kindly shared by the ALL (Association for Language Learning – click here to check out their website, well worth it).
1) Their annual competition is available here. I love the “Together” theme. Even if you will not/cannot enter your pupils’ work, it will be a lovely activity to do.
2) Click here for the ECML suggestions.
3) Click here for the British Council’s.
I have come across these other very helpful blogs / links through the ever useful Facebook group called “Languages in Primary Schools”:

2) https://myprimarylanguagesclassroom.com/2021/09/12/european-day-of-languages/
3) Song – We all laugh in the same language
I hope that this gives you lots of inspiration for 26th September… or any day when you want to celebrate languages, for that matter! Enjoy!
