This was one of my favourite stories to tell my own children when they were little, I thought it was so clever and so much fun!

Approaches:
This is the story of when hens were terrifying and wolves were good guys… What happened next?!
You could share the story with the class over a few lessons (3 or 4) as there is quite a bit of text then focus on the language in a specific page or the following activities: allow the children to make up their own adjectives in French (as in the story) made up of 2 other adjectives; ask the children to think of (in French and in English) all the story they know with wolves and how they are portrayed (you could have your own ready in French); get the children to write what happens next as the story doesn’t really have an ending…
Rationale:
I want to use this story because it makes you think about traditional tales and what actually makes a “baddy”. It is fun, well illustrated and appealing.
Outcomes:
The children will be motivated to look at the text because of the story around it. They could act out a simplified version of it too.

There are so many reading resources to go with this story here that you will not know which one to choose but they can all be used successfully with your pupils; you may want to focus on one page (if you own the book, you can copy a page for use within the classroom) and exploit that as there is so much in the story.
