You can read here about my favourite stories to deal with going back to school in September… or for any time of the year for that matter!
1) P’tit Loup rentre à l’école – for KS1-KS2
This is a lovely simple story which shows the activities young children might join in with at school in France. I particularly love the part where he goes to bed for his nap after a big lunch!
Click here to read more about it in my blog, then if you would like to buy it here at Little Linguist.
2) Je veux pas aller à l’école
This one is fun and perfect for relieving possible anxieties about going back to school.
Click here to read more about it in my blog.
3) Est-ce que la maîtresse dort à l’école?
Find out what teachers really do get up to when the children leave school!
Click here to read more about it in my blog.
4) Le crocodile de l’école
This beautiful book is about helping each other in school and how it helps us all grow.
Click hear to read more about it in my blog.
5) Portraits de maîtres
This is a hilarious rhyming story for older children where they have to guess form the clues which subject teacher is being described on each double-page.

One of the Les Puces ‘Flip-It’ books is ‘Petit Paul veut aller à l’école’. Using photos of a real school, teacher and children teamed with France de la Cour’s wonderful Petit Paul character, discover all the the things he will need to go to school.
All of the Les Puces books don’t show the two languages on the same page so it’s like reading a French book without having the translation in front of you. Have a look inside:

Thanks for sharing your book about going back to school Mandie!
